After a 14 length success in Doncaster’s 188bet.couk Novices’ Chase in December, Might Bite looked to be following up with a hugely impressive win in the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day before falling at the final flight when 10 lengths clear.
That day, Henderson’s charge had the likes of Frodon and Royal Vacation well behind before falling however remains as short as 4-1 for the RSA Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
The Grade 2 Sodexo Reynoldstown Novices' Chase as Ascot is a race Henderson knows well, having won it in 2016 with Vyta Du Roc, so Might Bite could well be on course to retain the crown for the trainer.
Henderson admits a trip to Kempton this week or Ascot onSaturday 18thFebruaryare the aims ahead of Cheltenham.
“We might have him out at the end of this week, or he could go for the Reynoldstown,” Henderson told Racing UK.
“He did a nice bit of schooling on Saturday morning and he’s just come back to himself.
"He is the one for the RSA if he goes there."
Henderson’s Whisper is also another option for the race at Ascot but Might Bite appears more likely to make the trip to Berkshire.
