Courses and activities include;
Company Induction
Quarterly event with the latest new recruits. An opportunity to meet senior managers and understand the business, the brand and vision for the future. It covers the ‘Ascot Way’, which describes the culture, the people, and what's expected of you. Includes a tour of the racecourse.
Local Induction
On your first days you will be welcomed into the team by your manager and be given a training plan to help you learn the requirements of your role. You will also learn the procedures around:
- Fire evacuation
- Medical Emergency and First Aid,
- General housekeeping and safety
- Reporting incidents.
E-Learning
There are a number of compliance e-learning modules to complete on our Learning Management System – Mapal One. You will receive the link to the modules you need to complete.
Probation and Performance Reviews
Generally the probation period at Ascot is 6 months. Regular meetings with you manager should be held to discuss progress and performance and identify training needs or requirements. After probation, these will turn into performance reviews held formally in January and July with regular one to one meeting throughout the year,
Personal development plans (PDP) and relevant information should be shares shared with the Learning & Talent Partner and/or HR.
Insights Discovery (Colours) Ascot use this personal development tool which produces a personal report which will contain information about your personal style, key strengths, weaknesses, value you bring to your team and tips on effective communication. The report is yours to keep and share as you wish. You will be invited to a workshop by the Learning & Talent Partner to understand your report.

Training Requests
Any training should be discussed with your manager and a formal request made through your PDP or direct to the Learning & Talent Partner. Any reasonable request will be considered if there is a need and benefit to the business.
