We are delighted to announce the winners of our Christmas poetry competition which invited local primary and secondary school students to devise a poem consisting of one of these three festive themes:
- When Santa borrowed a racehorse
- The racehorse who saved Christmas
- The Ascot snowman race
Entries were co-judged by Ryan Moore, world-class Flat jockey, and Chris Cook, senior reporter at the Racing Post.
Congratulations to our winners - Ethan Kroonenburg, age 7 from LVS School, Ascot and Henry Hossack, age 14 from Charters School, Sunningdale.
Both students have won £200 in Waterstones book vouchers for their respective schools plus £50 in vouchers for themselves which Chris Cook will present to them today.
